Millie's Milestones
Day 365 - Millie's birthday weekend
Millie hosted her first birthday party today. She will be one year old tomorrow, but we decided today would be best for a party because nana and papa are visiting.
Daddy designed the invitations and mummy baked some special fairy cakes.
Nana made a big Bunny Rabbit birthday cake and some sandwiches.
Just before three o'clock, daddy put on his special pink shirt and soon the guests began to arrive.
Zach and Isabel arrived with their mummy Fiona, and Edward and James came with Auntie Lindsey and Uncle Dan.
Then there were Grandma, Grandad France, Auntie Maggie, Andy and Tracy, Michelle and Elizabeth.
With Millie, mummy, daddy, nana and papa already here, there were 19 of us altogether.
It was quite a squeeze but everyone had a good time - especially the birthday girl who was deluged with presents.
Day 356 - Millie's first snowman
Today, daddy did something for Millie he remembers his daddy doing for him: he built her a snowman. This was Millie's first encounter with snow and although rather cold she really enjoyed herself.
In fact, she liked the first snowman so much that daddy soon built her another one.
He rolled a snowball round and round the garden until it was so big he almost couldn't roll it any more.
Then he made a smaller snowball to make the snowman's head.
He used three clothes pegs to make the mouth and the nozzle from the garden hose to make the snowman's nose.
Finally, he used a pair of mummy's pink sandles to make a pair of shoes.
All in all, the end result was rather good, although Mr Snowman admittedly looked a little lopsided.
But Millie didn't seem to mind.
She was too busy enjoying herself being outside with mummy.
Once the warmth had returned to daddy's fingers, he was able to take some photos.
